Lessons From PMS
The spiritual are called to restore:
Scripture says, “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted” (Galatians 6:10). When a Brother or Sister falls through sin there is a pattern for scriptural restoration. That pattern however requires repentance. To restore the unrepentant is not biblical. Without repentance of sin there is no foundation for reconciliation and restoration.
As born again believers we, not the wicked, have been delegated a measure of spiritual authority and power that we can use to govern through righteousness. Authority to govern belongs to the born again believer. Jesus said, “I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy... “Luke 10:19
If you truly desire to make a difference in this world, you must learn your delegated authority. Our delegated authority is defined by three important kingly assignments: to build, restore and govern. This is what P.M.S. means when we say, God moves us closer to our divine purpose as we surrender to embrace God’s call within US. Christ has delegated to all of us a measure of spiritual authority and power - that authority is used to build, restore and to govern. Not only do we have spiritual authority, Christ has also sent the Holy Spirit to back that Authority. The Holy Spirit is our teacher and will empower us with truth within our inner man. That truth is the principles of the Kingdom of heaven or said another way the laws of the Kingdom this is how we can unlock our destiny. I will talk more about how we build, restore and govern in our delegated authority....
This nation has become a commercial nation of consumers in bondage to debt, immorality, perversion, deception, lies, sex and so on. However, I believe that God offers us a way of escape just like those bound in Egypt under Pharaoh. When God heard their prayers He remembered His covenant and came down to deliverer them. We are thousands of years away from Egyptian bondage but the same spirit that captured God’s people is still on the earth. This time it’s different. This time we have Christ our King ready to lead us into victory. Opportunity for freedom is knocking. Can you hear the sound? This is why PMS was birth over six years ago – to help us hear the sound.... to take us deeper... deeper depths and higher heights – that our divine purpose will manifest as we surrender to God’s agenda, plan and purpose!
Maturity:
As we mature in the things of God we get past our own self-centeredness and begin to see the world in a different way, in other words, our world-view changes. Even our perspective begins to change from a temporal point of view that is limited to our lives alone toward a greater grasp of God’s Divine purpose for us covered by His eternal purpose. At PMS we learn that our responsibility is to influence our world, not withdraw from it. We are to be transformational people who transcend religion in order to bring God’s Kingdom of Justice for All to partake (raising up a new generation).
The Holy Spirit is our teacher. The Holy Spirit is also our source for revelation of our right to govern. Spiritual and natural government is ineffective without power. The Holy Ghost in you and me is that power. We can trust the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us in all truth. It is that same power that raised Christ from the dead. It is unstoppable. That same power is available to all God’s sons and daughters to enforce the Word of God in our lives. To rule by natural authority alone LEADS to corruption. Man’s wisdom is corrupted. God’s is not. That is why the Father sent us the Holy Spirit as teacher and helper. The Holy Spirit not only leads and guides us in all truth He backs up the Word of God with power in our lives At the end of the day WE can only look toward the Sovereign one who will judge both the living and the dead.
Our God is sovereign, and, as the Sovereign King of Glory, God holds “in union” both power and authority. God’s servants are under God’s sovereignty and are citizens of God’s Kingdom. We need to think about this for a minute because sovereign means, “Not controlled by outside forces.” It also means greatest in status, authority and power, autonomous and self-governed. Our God is self-governed. Think about that. God is governed only by God’s own Word. We as created beings, however, can never be Sovereign, totally autonomous or self-governed. We need a savoir and we also need each other.
Christ set in the Church five distinct ascension gifts of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. All of them are quite different, distinct and carry different graces needed to equip the born-again believer for effectiveness in life and ministry. “And he gave some apostles, and some prophets, and some evangelists, and some pastors, and teachers” (Ephesians 4:11). All five ministry gifts are equally important. We need the apostle. He is a spiritual father, architect and builder. We need the soul winning evangelist that reminds us of reaching the lost. We need the pastor who counsels, nurtures and comforts and the teacher to instruct, tutor and explain God’s Word and ways. And we need the prophet, God’s voice of edification, exhortation and comfort.
Prophets flow in revelation or rhema. “He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith to the churches.” (Revelation 2:29)
God wants to raise a prophetic people who are able to hear His voice clearly. Not just lone prophets, but a prophetic people. It is important the world hears the Word of the Lord with Power and with a Refreshing that comes from the prophetic anointing. We ALL need the prophetic voice to come into the earth that we might have a “living Word” imparted into our lives. Without the life provided by the prophetic voice, the Church would be like the dry bones in Ezekiel’s vision.
We need a prophetic people who have been delivered from the “fear of men” and who are not “men pleasers.”
True Prophets operate with spiritual authority. They enjoy rooting out, pulling down, and destroying all spiritual opposition that gets in the way of the plans and purpose of God.
“See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.” (Jeremiah 1:10)
In this verse, nations are symbolic of the natural realm, and kingdoms symbolic of the spiritual realm. To “root out” means to lay hold of the root of a thing and pull. The prophet is called to root out, pull down, to destroy and to overthrow. Notice that all these words deal with destroying opposition. Prophets are God’s spiritual reformers and revolutionaries. To reform means to bring about change and transformation!
Prophets make some people nervous and these same people will try to get rid of the prophet or close the prophet’s mouth before S/he gets to do what S/he is best at, building and planting. God builds by His Spirit and there are many spiritual obstacles that must be dealt with before the building and planting begins. When we understand the prophet’s gift we can all be more effective when warring against the spiritual forces that oppose the establishing and advancement of the Kingdom of God.
The Holy Spirit uses Christ’ fivefold ascension prophets as spiritual plows to break the hardest of sin-blackened soils and cut the deepest furrows within the heart of man. The prophet is gifted to prepare the way toward spiritual breakthrough of any spiritual opposition that might get in the way. One reason some feel uncomfortable with prophetic operations is because of the results of the prophet’s prayers. What the prophet attacks through intercession in the Spirit will sometimes reveal itself in the natural. PMS is divinely designed to help individuals closer God and His Will. For example, if the prophet attacks rebellion, then any common ground with rebellion in the people will manifest. But rather than stop the prophet’s rooting out intercession, we should continue to press in and let that prophetic grace finish its work. Once the spiritual warfare is finished the prophetic gift will open the heavens to us. This is demonstrated through our prayer petitions... Remember when Daniel was battling the principalities and powers? Because he didn’t give up and quit the angel was able to get through with the Word of the Lord for the nation.
Sometimes when the prophet speaks, people get stirred, troubled or offended. Offenses are the bait of Satan used to unplug you from important spiritual relationships. It’s can also move you out of position. Like many people who are wandering, not knowing how to respect the anointing and authority of God upon those He has appointed to nurture or mentor them. If you are being challenged, perhaps the Holy Spirit is trying to prepare you for your future. The prophetic gift in action is used to prune out the dead wood that keeps us from growing. Pruning is good for us all because pruning is necessary to produce more fruit
False Prophets
In the book of Matthews instructs us to “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits... Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven... We are “to know them by their fruit" - In other words to know a person requires looking at the fruit of their actions and life. Some trees bear fruit quickly others take more time. The only way to know a person, through the fruit of their actions, requires sound scriptural judgment and examination. Remember, Jesus used the word “beware” meaning to use extreme caution because some are wolves in sheep’s clothing. Wolves devour sheep. To protect US Christ taught that we are to look for righteous fruit because “a good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.”
Last but not least:
Some people think that a prophet must give personal prophecies to qualify to walk in the office of a prophet. That’s partially true. Yes they will give personal prophecies, but the revelation gifting goes far beyond personal prophecy. Personal prophecy is the lowest prophetic operation of the true prophet.
To constitute standing in the office of the prophet, a person needs to have a least two of the revelation gifts operating on a constant and continual basis in his/her life and ministry, PLUS the gift of prophesy. In other words, for a person to stand in the office of the prophet, he/she would need to be called to the five-fold ministry functions (i.e. teacher) declaring the Word (Eph. 4:11, 12), and have two of the three revelation gifts – the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, or the discerning of spirits – PLUS prophecy operating consistently in his/her ministry.
